Editing .htaccess Files

Changes to .htaccess file can be made using the DirectAdmin File Manager.

 

Here are the steps to access the File Manager and edit your .htaccess file

 

1. In your WP Bolt client account, click on the "Manage" button for the server you wish to manage.

 

2. Click the "Advanced" link in the left hand navigation

 

 

3. Click the Login URL link which will open the login page in a new tab, and copy/paste the password into the login form.

 

4. Change from "Admin" view to "User" view in the top right corner, and ensure the correct domain name is selected in the dropdown menu.

 

 

5. In the System Info & Files section, click on File Manager Icon.

 

6. The File Manager will be open in a new tab.

 

7. Navigate to the directory where you wish to Edit the .htaccess file (Most commonly requested in the public_html folder.)You will be able to see the .htaccess file. If it does not exist, create a new one.

 

8. To Edit the file, right-click the file and click Edit.

 

9. Once you have edited the file, click the Save button.
